ARIES quits

From ANIMAL PEOPLE, Jan/Feb 1994:

The ARIES Newsletter, published by
the Animal Rights Information and Education
Service, ended with the September-December
issue. Editor Peter Hermance, who began
ARIES as a monthly in March 1989, directed
readers to other media, including ANIMAL
PEOPLE, and detailed his repeated exclusion
from the Summit for the Animals, an annual
assembly of group leaders that welcomes
many other heads of essentially one-person
projects. Hermance apparently was barred
––unknown to himself––primarily because for-
mer Summit executive committee member
Wayne Pacelle warned other committee mem-
bers that he might be an “infiltrator.”
